We wrapped up our last regatta of the season - The Naples Classic. You can see the results here. We had 11 boats and over 60 people at the awards party at Mr. Tequila. Thank you to everyone who help to run the event and especially those who participated.
Speaking of Tequila, our Summer Tequila Racing Series kicks off June 14 with races every two weeks. See the racing section below for more information.
If anyone is looking to go out day sailing or cruising somewhere this summer and want to get a group together, let me know. We can do an informal announcement via the club email system and see who is interested.
Check the section below on Chartering. This is a wonderful way to get out with family and friends locally and in some beautiful locations such as the Bahamas, BVI, Greece, Croatia, Italy (and loads of other locations). It does take some effort to plan and, of course, there is a cost. GCSC has several excellent resources available to help you through the process.
Stay tuned, read your newsletters, visit the club website, and if you are interested in getting involved in any of these activities, please reach out to me via the email below.
Cheers,
Bob Andreini

Join us for our Tequila Racing Series
Starts June 14 with races every two weeks
The Gulf Coast Sailing Club's Tequila Racing Series is a casual, summer-focused sailing event designed to bring members together on the water in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. Held during the summer months, this series emphasizes fun and camaraderie over competition, making it an ideal opportunity for both seasoned sailors and newcomers to participate.
Races in the Tequila Series typically follow a "pursuit start" format, where each boat is assigned a unique starting time based on its PHRF (Performance Handicap Racing Fleet) rating. This staggered start system aims to have all boats finish around the same time, enhancing the social aspect of the event.
The series is scheduled on select Saturdays throughout the summer, with races usually starting at 11:00 AM.
For those interested, be sure to get your boat on the scratch sheet by contacting racing@gulfcoastsailingclub.org
For more details on upcoming races and events, you can visit the Gulf Coast Sailing Club's official website.
"KEEPING SAILING FUN"
| Cruising is officially wrapped up for the season!
If anyone has interest in cruising this summer, let me know. Personally, we are always doing short trips up and down the west coast of Florida and would be happy to share itineraries and even create a club event.
