Gal's Cup
Challenge Races
One of GCSC's 2009 missions is to build up our Gal membership and participation.

While GCSC's Spin B Revival Association managed to find a beat up old black cup to fight for, the GCSC BOD found a shinny, bright Silver Cup with curvy legs that was a natural choice for the reward for the winners of the Gals Cup Challenge Races.

Carol on Vee Jay
-- J30

Liz on JABU
-- Sabre 40

The rules for competing for the cup are simple:
1. Gal at helm during the entire race, (can rotate drivers)
2. More Gals than guys on the crew
3. No Cross Dressing allowed!!!
4. Any PHRF Division
5. All challenges to be coordinated by the GCSC Officers/BOD who can adjust PHRF ratings to make matches more competitive.
6. A non spin boat can challenge a spin boat for a non spin race that will be open to the club fleet.
7. A regatta challenge uses the results from that regatta to determine the winner with all PHRF classes eligible. (subject to #5 above) *
8. The winner only gets to hold the cup while while they are the current winner.
9. Challenges should be issued through Lisa Brice@GulfCoastSailingClub.org
10. Challenging boats need to be in GCSC Fleet.

* (Please note the GCSC Gal's Challenge Cup is a GCSC program that may take the overall results of a non-GCSC-sponsored-regatta in which GCSC members participate to set up a GCSC award. The winner of the Cup is determined by a committee of GCSC officers/BODs. The award is presented at a subsequent GCSC monthly meeting and is not part of the race organizer's program. This is a GCSC Club Award.)
