Matching Crew and Boats is not a simple task as schedules and
availabilities often are difficult to match ... The GCSC Spin B Crew Call to
over 50 names sometimes just yields 3-4 crew for a spin afternoon ... where we
can use 14! on two boats.
But don't be
shy ... skippers need crew and crew need skippers ... spin, daysail, race, or
cruise. There are a lot of Sailboats in the Marco/Naples/Dr. Pass area that
never get out ... just because the skippers and the crews can't match
up.
GCSC is here to help where we can
... sometimes we have to train crew ... sometimes we have to train skippers. We
try to match whatever we can.
Sailing
is what we do.

"Vee Jay", a J30 tries
to get out a few times every week. Always looking for crew … skilled or
semiskilled. Learn how to race with spinnakers. Also looking for crew for
"SHOCK" so that we can match race practice. Spin is crew hungry and we
can use 10-12 just to practice using two boats. We are part of the GCSC's
Naples Spin B Revival Association and Naples Black
Cup Challengers.

Center is a year round community based non-profit organization
offering US Sailing certified learn-to-sail classes for youth and adults. We
also offer competitive race coaching on the Florida Sailing Association circuit
and in the SAISA High School sailing district of the ISSA. Our young sailors,
aged 8-15, sail in Optimist dinghies, while our older youth, high school, and
adult sailors sail in Lasers and 420s.
